Visiting 77 Cycles
-
Workshop appointments can be booked through the online booking system on our website.
Choose the most appropriate service or describe the issue you are experiencing. We can confirm the exact work required after inspecting the bike.
-
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during spring and summer when demand is highest.
Smaller repairs can often be fitted in quickly, while major services and suspension work may need to be booked further in advance. Our online booking system shows the next available appointments.
-
You are always welcome to visit the shop for advice or to discuss an issue with your bike.
However, we recommend booking workshop jobs in advance so we can allocate enough time and ensure your bike is seen as quickly as possible.
-
Tell us as much as you can about:
The type of bike
The problem you are experiencing
When the problem started
Any unusual noises or changes in performance
Any specific parts or upgrades you would like us to consider
Do not worry if you are unsure what is wrong. A straightforward description of what you have noticed is usually enough for us to begin.
-
We will discuss the work with you and inspect the bike as required. We may confirm the job immediately or contact you after carrying out a more detailed assessment.
We will explain the recommended work, likely cost and expected turnaround time before proceeding.
-
Yes. Please let us know who will be bringing in or collecting the bike, particularly if payment is still due or we need to discuss the completed work with them.

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you, but a significant delay may affect when the work can be completed.
-

-
We can carry out many mechanical repairs and servicing jobs on electric bikes.
Work involving the motor, battery, electrical system or manufacturer diagnostics may depend on the brand and system fitted. Please contact us with the bike and motor details before booking specialist electrical work.

-
We may be able to assemble, inspect or safety-check a bike bought online or from another retailer.
Please contact us before bringing it in, as the work required and cost will depend on how the bike has been supplied and its condition.
-
Where workshop availability allows, we may be able to inspect a second-hand bike and identify visible mechanical issues.
An inspection cannot guarantee that every hidden or future fault will be detected, but it can help you make a more informed decision.
-
Yes. You do not need to diagnose the fault yourself.
Tell us what you have noticed, such as a noise, vibration, loss of performance or change in how the bike feels. We can inspect the bike and explain what we find.
-
Yes. We can inspect the bike’s main safety-related components, including the brakes, wheels, tyres, steering and drivetrain.
A safety check is particularly useful for bikes that have not been ridden for some time or have recently been purchased second-hand.
-

For tubeless systems, additional work may be needed if the sealant has dried out, the tyre is damaged or the rim tape needs to be replaced.

Tubeless compatibility will depend on the wheel and tyre combination.

More extensive damage may require a wheel rebuild or replacement. We will explain the available options after assessing the wheel.
-

-
We may be able to fit customer-supplied parts, provided they are appropriate, compatible and safe to use.
We cannot guarantee the quality, suitability or condition of parts supplied by the customer. Additional labour may be charged if compatibility issues or missing components make the job more complex.

We will explain the available options and recommend parts that are appropriate for your bike, riding and budget.
-
A quick rinse is always appreciated, particularly if your bike has been used in very muddy conditions.
A reasonably clean bike helps us inspect it properly and begin work more quickly. If a bike is excessively dirty, we may need to charge for additional cleaning before servicing can begin.
-
Yes. If we discover additional issues, we will explain:
What we have found
Why we recommend addressing it
What the additional work will cost
Whether it will affect the completion date
We will not carry out additional repairs or fit extra parts without your approval.
-
You are not required to approve additional work that we recommend.
However, an inspection or assessment charge may apply where diagnostic work has already been carried out. We will explain any applicable charge before beginning a detailed assessment.
-
Yes. We will give you an honest assessment.
Where the cost of repairing a bike or component is likely to outweigh its value, reliability or remaining usable life, we will explain the alternatives rather than encourage unnecessary work.
-
We take reasonable care when inspecting and working on every bike. However, some faults may be intermittent, internal or not visible during a standard inspection.
We will tell you about any issues we identify and recommend further investigation where necessary.
workshop services
-
Yes. Suspension servicing is one of our specialist areas.
We service and maintain a wide range of suspension forks and rear shocks. If your suspension requires manufacturer-only work, specialist equipment or parts that are not immediately available, we will explain the options before proceeding.
-
We can work on a wide range of leading suspension brands.
The service we can provide will depend on the exact model, year, condition and availability of service parts. Contact us with the product details if you are unsure.
-
Where possible, please provide:
The manufacturer
The model
The approximate year
The bike it is fitted to
The serial number
A description of the problem
When it was last serviced
Photographs may help us identify the correct model before you visit.
-
Recommended service intervals vary by manufacturer, model, riding conditions and how frequently the bike is used.
Regular lower-leg or air-can servicing can help maintain performance and reduce wear. Full services are usually required less frequently but should not be left until the suspension has developed a serious fault.
We can advise based on your particular setup and riding.
-
Yes. Suspension components can normally be booked in either fitted to the bike or removed.
Please tell us when booking whether you are bringing the complete bike or a loose component.
-
Please contact us before posting any suspension component.

-
Yes. We can help set up your suspension using factors such as:
Rider weight
Bike type

Current settings
Personal preferences
Setup recommendations may include air pressure, sag, rebound, compression and volume spacers where applicable.
-
We will contact you and explain what we have found.
Depending on the damage and availability of parts, the options may include further repair, replacement parts, manufacturer support or replacing the component.
We will not proceed with significant additional costs without your approval.
suspension services
completion, collection & payment
-
Turnaround times vary depending on the type of work, workshop demand and whether parts need to be ordered.
Minor repairs can often be completed within a few days. Larger services, suspension work and jobs requiring special-order parts may take longer.
We will give you an estimated completion time and keep you informed if anything changes.
-
Some small jobs may be completed quickly when workshop capacity allows, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Please contact us in advance if you need a same-day repair or are travelling a significant distance.
-
We will contact you using the details provided with your booking when the work is complete or ready for collection.
Please ensure your contact details are correct and let us know if you prefer a particular method of contact.
-
We can usually provide an initial estimate based on the information available.
The final cost may change if further faults are identified after inspection or disassembly. We will contact you for approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.
-
Payment is normally due when the bike or component is collected.
Deposits or advance payment may be required for special-order parts, high-value components or particularly extensive work.
-
Any finance or instalment options will depend on the value and type of purchase and the payment services available at the time.
Please ask before approving the work if you would need to use a finance option.
-
Please collect your bike as soon as reasonably possible after we tell you it is ready.
Our storage space is limited. If a bike is left for an extended period without prior agreement, storage charges may apply. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before charges are added.

-
Stop using the product if continuing to use it may be unsafe and contact us as soon as possible.
Bring the product and proof of purchase to the shop where possible. We may need to inspect it, contact the supplier or submit a manufacturer warranty claim before confirming the available remedy.
-
Many bikes, parts and accessories include a manufacturer’s warranty.
Warranty length and coverage vary by manufacturer and product. Warranties normally cover manufacturing defects rather than accidental damage, misuse, incorrect installation, neglect or normal wear.
Your statutory consumer rights are separate from any manufacturer warranty.
-
If you believe there is a problem with work completed by us, contact us promptly and allow us to inspect it.
Where the issue is caused by our workmanship, we will take reasonable steps to put it right. This does not cover unrelated faults, normal wear, accidental damage or problems caused by subsequent use, adjustment or work carried out elsewhere.

This will depend on the rules of the individual scheme.
Contact us with the name of your provider and we will confirm what can be included.
