We want you to be happy with anything you buy from 77 Cycles. This page explains our approach to returns, faulty products and warranty claims.

Nothing on this page affects your statutory consumer rights.

Changed your mind?

For products bought in our shop, we will normally offer an exchange or store credit within 14 days of purchase, provided that:

  • You have proof of purchase

  • The product is unused and in its original condition

  • All packaging, labels, instructions and accessories are included

  • The product can reasonably be sold again as new

This is a goodwill policy. There is not normally an automatic legal right to return an item bought in a shop simply because you have changed your mind.

Products we cannot normally accept as change-of-mind returns

Unless the product is faulty, our goodwill returns policy does not normally apply to:

  • Bikes or components that have been ridden, fitted or installed

  • Helmets or protective equipment that have been used

  • Clothing that has been worn beyond trying it on

  • Opened sealants, lubricants, cleaning products or other consumables

  • Products that have been altered, cut or customised

  • Personalised or custom-made products

  • Special-order items where return restrictions were explained before purchase

  • Gift cards or vouchers

  • Clearance or ex-display products sold with a clearly disclosed issue

This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, not as described or does not meet legal requirements.

Faulty products

Products sold by 77 Cycles must be:

  • Of satisfactory quality

  • Fit for their intended purpose

  • As described

Please contact us as soon as possible if you believe something is faulty.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a refund, repair, replacement or price reduction.

We may ask you to provide:

  • Proof of purchase

  • Details of the problem

  • Photographs or video

  • Information about how the product was fitted, maintained and used

  • The product itself so that we can inspect it

Proof of purchase does not have to be a paper receipt. An order confirmation, card transaction or other evidence showing that the product was bought from us may be accepted.

Faults reported within 30 days

Where a product is faulty, not as described or unfit for its intended purpose, you may have a short-term right to reject it and receive a refund if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it.

This right does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Accidental or crash damage

  • Misuse or neglect

  • A fault that was clearly explained before purchase

  • Damage caused by incorrect fitting or unauthorised modification

  • A change of mind

We may need to inspect the product before confirming the appropriate outcome.

Faults reported after 30 days

After the initial 30-day period, the usual first remedy will be a repair or replacement.

If a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, unavailable or cannot be completed within a reasonable time, you may then be entitled to a price reduction or refund.

The appropriate solution will depend on the product, its age, the nature of the fault and your legal rights.

Manufacturer warranties

Many bikes, frames and components include a manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee.

The length and coverage of the warranty will depend on the manufacturer and product. Some manufacturers may require:

  • Proof of purchase

  • Product registration

  • The original owner to make the claim

  • Correct installation and servicing

  • Compliance with maintenance schedules

  • Photographs or inspection of the product

  • The product or affected part to be returned

A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace them.

Your purchase contract is with 77 Cycles, so you can contact us if there is a problem even where a manufacturer’s warranty applies.

What warranties do not normally cover

Manufacturer warranties do not normally cover problems caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Crashes, impacts or accidental damage

  • Misuse or neglect

  • Incorrect installation

  • Failure to follow maintenance instructions

  • Unauthorised modifications

  • Corrosion caused by poor cleaning or storage

  • Use outside the product’s intended purpose or limits

  • Consumable components reaching the end of their normal service life

Examples of consumable or wear items may include brake pads, chains, bearings, tyres, seals and suspension-service components.

Coverage will depend on the cause of the problem and the specific manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Workshop work and fitted parts

Please contact us promptly if you believe there is a problem with workshop work completed by 77 Cycles or with a part we have fitted.

We will usually need to inspect the bike or component before deciding what action is required.

Where our service has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill, we will provide the remedy required by law. This may include repeating the relevant work or providing an appropriate price reduction.

This does not normally cover a problem caused by:

  • An unrelated or pre-existing fault

  • Normal wear after the work was completed

  • Accidental damage or misuse

  • Continued riding after a problem became apparent

  • Failure to follow bedding-in, servicing or maintenance advice

  • Work or alterations carried out by someone else after collection

  • A fault within a part supplied by the customer

Please stop using the bike and contact us if you believe it may be unsafe.

Customer-supplied parts

Where we agree to fit a part supplied by you, we are responsible for carrying out the agreed fitting work with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for a fault already present in the customer-supplied part, its authenticity or an incompatibility that could not reasonably have been identified before fitting.

Additional labour charges may apply if a faulty or unsuitable customer-supplied part needs to be investigated, removed or replaced.

Special orders and custom builds

Special-order, personalised or custom-built products may not be eligible for our goodwill change-of-mind returns policy.

We will explain any deposit, cancellation or return restrictions before accepting the order where possible.

Your statutory rights still apply if the product is faulty, incorrectly described or otherwise does not meet legal requirements.

Cycle to Work purchases

Returns and warranty claims for products bought through a Cycle to Work scheme may also need to follow the scheme provider’s process.

Where a refund is due, it will normally be returned through the original Cycle to Work scheme or payment route rather than paid directly to the customer.

Please contact us before returning the product so that we can confirm the correct process.

Sale and ex-display products

Sale products have the same statutory rights as full-price products.

An ex-display, used or reduced product may have a specific cosmetic issue or defect explained before purchase. You cannot normally make a claim based solely on an issue that was clearly disclosed and accepted when you bought it.

Your rights still apply to other faults that were not disclosed.

How to make a return or warranty claim

Please contact us before returning a bike, frame or large product.

Tell us:

  • Your name and contact details

  • What you bought

  • When you bought it

  • The problem you have experienced

  • Whether the product has been fitted or used

  • The outcome you are looking for

Bring or provide proof of purchase where possible.

We may need to inspect the product or obtain information from the manufacturer or distributor before confirming the outcome.

Refunds

Approved refunds will normally be made through the original payment method.

The time taken for the money to appear in your account may depend on your bank, card provider or Cycle to Work scheme.
